A day trip to the country destination! Leave Chiang Mai along the mountainous highway to Lampang ( 95 Km ). Made at stop at the Local market where you could see local products in Northern Thailand and local handicrafts from Lampang city . Then drive on to visit Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang, one of the northern finest temples and the best presentation of Lanna style architecture. Continue to Lampang town for sightseeing tour by a unique colorful Horse Carriage around the city center; visit Baan Sao Nuk a 150 years old teak house in northern Thai style and visit Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao , where the famous Emerald Buddha was enshrined for 32 years (from A.D. 1436 to 1468).
Lunch serve at the local restaurant.
Afternoon drive on to Lamphun, with its history dating back to A.D. 700, and its ancient and revered temple;
Wat Phra That Haripunchai, which has two beautiful old Chedis in the original Haripunchai style. The tallest chedi is 46 meters high and is topped by a nine-tier umbrella made of 6.5 Kg of gold, and Wat Chamadevi , dates back at least to the 10th century and was built by the Mons. The main pagoda has five levels, on each of which twelve standing Buddhas are set in attitudes of blessing. The top of Pagoda was once covered with gold but this has since disappeared, hence the temple’s popular name Wat Ku Kut (Topless Pagoda). Then relaxing drive through a corridor of beautiful 130 years old Gum trees both side of old Lamphun – Chiang Mai Road back to Chiang Mai
