Day 2: Luang Prabang (Mekong river)

After breakfast, visit the Royal Palace Museum, built in 1904 for King Sisavang Vong, then enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of Buddha statues. Stop at Ban Xanghai village to sample local rice wine before returning to visit Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong, known for its stunning architecture and mosaics. Explore Heuan Chan, a 19th-century mansion showcasing Lao culture, and enjoy authentic Lao coffee or tea.

End the day with sunset views from Phousi Hill and a visit to the vibrant Night Market in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang (KuangSi Waterfall)

Begin your day with a visit to a community-based rice farm near Luang Prabang, where you can participate in farming activities or observe from a traditional Lao rice house. Explore nearby artisan workshops and learn about traditional medicine in an organic garden.

In the afternoon, visit the stunning Kuang Si waterfalls, perfect for swimming, followed by a stop at the Bear Rescue Center. End your day at the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where artisans create high-quality fabrics, before returning to your hotel in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang (Elephant Village)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Elephant Village Camp for a warm welcome and briefing. Enjoy feeding the elephants, exploring the camp's hospital, museum, gallery, and dung paper facility. Experience being a Mahout with a one-on-one interaction with an elephant before taking a traditional Lao long boat ride to the Tad Sae Waterfall, where you can relax or swim (seasonal water levels apply). A buffet lunch with vegetarian options is served at the camp restaurant.

At 1:00 pm, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Luang Prabang → Vang Vieng

Depart at 8:30 am from your hotel and transfer to Nahm Dong Park, 10 km from Luang Prabang. After a welcome by the park manager, enjoy a one-hour zipline ride over the jungle and waterfalls, followed by trekking (1-3 hours) along jungle trails with flying bridges, streams, and natural pools. A picnic lunch is served at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the region, including Mount Phousi. Spend the afternoon exploring the park or relaxing by the pools.

Later, transfer to the train station for your journey to Vang Vieng, where a driver will take you to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Vang Vieng (exploration)

Today, enjoy a full-day adventure exploring the natural wonders of Vang Vieng. Begin with a visit to Tham Jang Cave, a historical refuge during the Chinese invasion. Continue to Tham Nangfa (Angel Cave), known for its vast limestone formations and stunning stalactites, perfect for photography and contemplation. Next, relax at Blue Lagoon 2, surrounded by lush greenery and clear blue waters, ideal for swimming and unwinding. Take a 30-minute cruise on the Nam Song River aboard a long-tail boat, soaking in picturesque views.

On the return journey, optional stops include local villages and a market. End the day with a serene sunset over the Nam Song River and an overnight stay in Vang Vieng.

Day 7: Vang Vieng → Vientiane

After breakfast, drive 14 km north to Tham Xang (Elephant Cave), a Buddhist temple known for limestone formations resembling elephants. Continue to Tham Hoi (Snail Cave) for a 45-minute exploration of winding corridors and stunning formations. Visit the Loop Cave and Tham Nam (Water Cave), where you can swim and tube through clear waters during the dry season. Trek 2 km to the Hmong village of Phathao, passing rice paddies and vegetable gardens.

Return to Vang Vieng and drive to Vientiane in the afternoon, a charming capital blending Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and French influences.

Day 8: Vientiane (city tour)

We begin our tour by visiting the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital. Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Next, we visit COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we stop at the Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe. Continue out visit at Pha That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. We drive out of the city to visit the Buddha Park which contains numerous religious images. Back to the city.

Day 9: Vientiane (rice experience)

After breakfast, your tuk-tuk driver and guide will take you to an organic farm near Vientiane, run by a Lao NGO using traditional farming methods. Try rice farming, fish, collect duck eggs, and harvest seasonal vegetables. Cook a traditional Lao lunch with your produce, including sticky rice and papaya salad. On the way back, visit a fresh food market to explore local produce and enjoy Lao coffee or sweets. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 10: Vientiane (departure)
